A person has died after being hit by a train at Shenfield station just after half ten this morning.
A spokesman said for British Transport Police said: “Officers are on scene alongside paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service, sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers are working to identify the person and inform their family.
“This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
National Rail says trains between London Liverpool Street and Chelmsford and Wickford may be delayed by up to 90 minutes or cancelled until 1pm.
