A disability catwalk will be taking place in Beckton this week.

National disability modelling agency Models of Diversity has partnered up with Leicester Centre for Integrated Living for the event at the University of East London, in University Way, on Wednesday.

Jack Eyers, the first disabled person to model for New York fashion week and Models of Diversity spokesperson Chelsey Jay, will be two of the 12 people walking the catwalk at the university’s Dock Arena.

The event is taking place as part of a campaign led by charity Choice Unlimited.

Angel Sinclair, CEO, said: “Taking part in Choice Unlimited events will allow us to showcase the diversity of our models and also encourage visitors of the exhibition to chase their ambitions.

“Abled and less abled models will walk the catwalk on the 8th July together branching the segregation of models in the fashion industry.

“We are calling on the beauty and marketing industries to recognize people of all races, ages, shapes, sizes and abilities.”
