A fire is being investigated after flames wrecked parts of a derelict home yesterday.

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers were called to the fire in Clarkson Road, Canning Town, shortly before 3.30pm.

The fire damaged a large part of the roof and a small part of the first floor of the mid-terraced property. Crews from Plaistow, Poplar, East Ham, Millwall, Plumstead and East Greenwich fire stations brought the blaze under control by 4.15pm.
