Children will be on the edge of their £1 seats after train operater c2c cut the price of travel over the summer holidays.
The National Express operator has doubled the length of post-peak morning trains to eight carriages over the summer break, providing 4,000 extra seats a day for day-trippers in London and East Sussex.
Meanwhile, children aged 5-15 can travel for just £1 each off-peak up to September 2 if accompanied by an adult, even if they hold season or advancd tickets.
“Summer’s here and we know what a popular time it is for a day out, whether sight-seeing in London or a day at the beach,” said c2c commercial director Clare McCaffrey.
“That’s why we’re adding thousands of extra seats to our trains, and running our special ‘kids for a quid’ offer. Combined with our huge discounts on advance tickets, families can find really affordable days out with c2c.”
