Cuthbert out to break Leyton Orient’s home hoodoo against former side Swindon Town

Leyton Orient defender Scott Cuthbert insists the wait for the O’s first home win is less than ideal, but hopes a clash against former side Swindon Town on Saturday will see them break their hoodoo.

Orient’s winless run at Brisbane Road was extended to five games as they let a 2-1 half-time lead slip against 10-man Rochdale last weekend.

Cuthbert knows the bad run at home has to come to an end at some point, and has his eyes on beating his former employees Swindon on Saturday.

“It’s another home game and let’s keep them coming,” said Cuthbert, who played 96 games for the Robins in a two-year spell at the County Ground.

“We have got to get a win sooner rather than later and get the monkey off our backs and there’s no better way to do that than against my former club. I’d love to get the three points, that’s for sure.”

It’s only the second seven-day break in fixtures for the O’s this season, and after a difficult week off the pitch with boss Russell Slade resigning, the Scottish defender hopes the break can make a difference.

“I am pleased after the week we have had that we have got a Tuesday off and we can just relax and regroup because there have been a lot of games recently,” he added.

“I think we have handled the week it as well as we can. At the end of the day as players we have just got to put everything that is happening on the outside to the back of our minds. We have got a job to do.”
