More than 2000 residents got the chance to be whichever superhero they wanted for the day at the Green Street Festival on Monday.
Spiderman, Batman, Captain America and Wonder Woman were just a few, who descended on Green Street, to develop their character through a range of activities including face painting, costume making, theatre workshops and storytelling sessions.
Cllr Ken Clark, cabinet member for building communities, public affairs, regeneration and planning, said: “The festival was a huge success and was fantastically supported despite the weather which failed to dampen the enthusiasm of those who attended.
“It is only by bringing people together through events like this and other initiatives throughout the year that we can continue to build on that spirit to develop really resilient communities.”
The event being organised by the Green Street Community Neighbourhood Team who also put on Bengali, Bollywood, Bulgarian and Lithuanian dance performances, a street dance performance by Boy Blue, a martial arts display, and food from across the world.
