Yob denied chance to see Spurs Hammered

A SERIAL soccer hooligan asked for a stay of execution on his football banning order – so he could watch a crucial West Ham game.

Jonathan Coton had admitted at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday nine offences, including affray, causing major disorder, being part of a group seeking confrontation and associating with a large number of other risk supporters.

The 36-year-old, of Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, requested that his three-year banning order be delayed four days so he could watch Hammers take on Spurs at Upton Park on Saturday.

But magistrate Bob Keary was not inclined to postpone the order, which also prevents Coton going within two miles of West Ham’s Boleyn Ground.

Mr Keary said: “I think for you it is a subscription to Sky Sports or take up another sport.”
