A woman accused of murdering a pensioner in North Woolwich has appeared in court this morning.
The 31-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
She was arrested after a 77-year-old man, named locally as Mike Pleasted, was found with stab wounds at his home in Drew Road in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The woman, who appeared at the Old Bailey via video link, spoke to confirm her name and that she understood the proceedings.
She has been remanded in custody until her next appearance at the court on February 18 for a plea and case management hearing.
