Two men caught by police making crack cocaine inside a property down a residential road have been jailed for 11 years.
Phil Kamulete of Henniker Point, Stratford, and Romaro Watson, of Disraeli Road, Forest Gate, were found with the class A drug in various stages of preparation plus instructions on how to cook crack cocaine.
Heroin was also found during the raid in Disraeli Road, Newham, in November 2016.
Kamulete and Watson, both aged 22, were sentenced for their crimes at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Thursday, October 5.
After being discovered, Watson had attempted to stab one of the policemen with a pair of scissors and repeatedly punched him in the face after trying to throw the crack cocaine out of the window.
Meanwhile, Kamulete was seen trying to throw away two bundles of crack cocaine and heroin intended for street supply while fleeing the door.
He was chased down by two officers and detained. A third male, yet to be identified, managed to escape.
Police also found a hunting knife hidden under a pile of jackets on the front passenger seat in a vehicle outside the property.
Kamulete was jailed for six years and six months after being found guilty of conspiracy to produce a class A drug, seven counts of possession of a class A drug with intent and one count of possession of criminal property.
Watson was sentenced to five years and four months imprisonment after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing.
His charges included one count of conspiracy to produce crack cocaine, three counts of possession of a class A drug with intent, one count of unlawfully wounding of a police officer, one count of assault with intent to resist arrest and one count of possession of criminal property.
DS Gary Harreman said: “We are pleased with the outcome of this court case. Investigations such as this show that the Metropolitan Police will actively seek to target those involved in organised criminality.
“We will strive to protect the public from these violent individuals.”
