The family of John Breen, who died following an assault at Stratford station, have paid tribute to a “wonderful” man.
The 53-year-old died in hospital on Wednesday as a result of the injuries he sustained during an alleged rush-hour assault on Tuesday evening.
In a statement, his family said: “John’s whole family and friends are totally devastated by this mindless act of violence.
“John was a wonderful son, brother and uncle and will be truly missed by all who knew him.”
Four teenage boys from Ilford – two aged 14, one 15 and one 16 – are due to appear at the Old Bailey today charged with murder.
