Police warn a beef thief could be selling stolen meat worth 80,000 around Upton Park.

The haul of Namibian beef was taken from a freight company based in Grays, Essex, between 5pm on December 28 and 4am December 29.

Essex police estimate approximately ten tonnes of beef in branded Natures Reserve boxes was stolen from a refrigerated lorry parked in the yard of Premier Freight Services in Wharf Road.

Information suggests the meat may be being sold in the busy shopping district and markets of Upton Park.

Officers urge anyone who has been offered the beef or has information about the thief to call investigating officer PC Michael Davey in South Ockendon on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
