A teenager has been charged in connection with an alleged hit and run that left a woman and two of her grandchildren hospitalised.

Haris Najeeb, 19, of St Martin’s Avenue, East Ham, is set to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, May 2.

He has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving with no insurance.

The charges follow a police investigation into an alleged hit and run that involved three pedestrians in Central Park Road, East Ham, in the afternoon of October 27 last year.

Khalida Bibi, 60, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and her grandson and granddaughter, both 11, were also hurt and treated in hospital.
