Two brothers have appeared in court today charged with travelling to a terrorist training camp in Syria.
Mohommod Hassin Nawaz, 29, of Dirleton Road, Stratford, and Hamza Nawaz, 22, of the same address, appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court jointly accused of conspiring to go to a place used for terrorist training and possessing five rounds of ammunition for a rifle.
Mohommod Hassin Nawaz was also accused of possessing a laptop containing information “likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.”
It is claimed that this includes four copies of the al Qaida magazine Inspire.
The brothers, who were arrested in Dover on September 16, spoke only to confirm their identity. They were remanded in custody until October 21 when they will appear at the Old Bailey.
