A STUDENT caught spanking a woman’s bottom avoided prison and the “stigma” of being placed on the sex offender’s register on Wednesday after claiming it would ruin his future.
After the slap as she walked along Forest Lane at 6am, Amir Anwar, 22, squeezed his victim’s buttocks.
The 23-year-old flagged down a passing police car and the hoodie-wearing Anwar was arrested. He claimed it was a case of mistaken identity.
Judge Simon Davis at Inner London Crown Court said though his actions were “serious” he did not have to go to prison.
He imposed an 11-month supervision order on Anwar, from Leytonstone. He had denied sexual assault on April 10 but was convicted after a trial.
