Five Newham police officers were injured, four of them seriously, after they were attacked by a pitbull dog in Stratford today.
The male officers were attempting to execute an arrest warrant in Albert Square at around 9am.
A dog unit was called to the scene and CO19 specialist firearms command also attended. The dog was contained and shot dead.
All five Pcs sustained injuries and were taken to an east London hospital. The Metropolitan Police said they are currently in a stable condition.
A man in his 20s was arrested and is in custody at an east London police station.
