Detectives investigating the death of a man shot on his driveway 16 years ago have charged a Plaistow man with consipracy to murder.
Robert Blackwell, 51, of Atlas Road, was arrested in the early hours of this morning and subsequently charged in connection with the death of Leonard Naylor.
He is set to appear before Medway magistrates today.
Mr Naylor, 46, died after suffering multiple gunshot wounds on the driveway of his home in Bracondale Avenue, Istead Rise, Kent on April 18, 2001.
Three other men – a 51-year-old from Colchester, a 52-year-old from Upminster and a 43-year-old of no fixed address were also arrested in the early hours of this morning and remain in custody.
