Newham police officer receives court summons for misconduct

A Newham police officer has been summonsed to appear at court charged with misconduct in a public office and perverting the course of justice.

Pc Gavin Brown, 34, has been ordered to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, August 7.

He is charged with failing to correctly submit evidence by writing and signing statements that were not his own and submitting them in court proceedings between September 17, 2012 and January 26, 2014.

Pc Brown is currently on restricted duties.
