A man from Newham who was arrested on suspicion of being linked to terrorist group, Islamic State, has been released on bail.

The 32-year-old man was arrested on Saturday morning at an address in Newham in connection with terrorism offences.

He was arrested on suspicion of the collection of information which maybe useful to somebody who commits or prepares acts of terrorism, being a member or supporter of a proscribed organisation, namely Islamic State, and the encouragement of terrorism.

The arrest was made under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.

The man has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in mid-March.
