A jury retired today to consider a verdict in the trial of a Barking couple accused of murdering a minicab controller in Stratford.
Gulam Chowdhury, 24, of Heenan Close, Barking, and Nargis Riaz, 22, of Fanshawe Avenue, Barking, have been on trial at the Old Bailey for four weeks accused of murdering Mohammed Yasser Afzal.
A third defendant, Muhammed Khan, 23, of Lindsey Close, Dagenham, denies assisting an offender.
Mr Afzal, who lived in Norwich Road, Forest Gate, died after being stabbed at the E20 Cars control office on March 24 last year.
