A man who allegedly attacked patients at Newham General Hospital is to receive mental health care.

Rondell Chester, of Barking Road, Canning Town, was given the order following his appearance at Inner London Crown Court.

During incidents in January 15 last year in the early hours, three men and two women were injured when they were attacked in their beds.

Chester faced counts of grievous bodily harm, actual bodily harm, common assault and possessing an offensive weapon.

He did not enter a plea, but was dealt with after the submission of medical reports.
