Man taken to hospital after Plaistow attack

A MAN was taken to hospital after suffering head injuries in a street fight.

The incident happened near the Foresters pub in Whitwell Road, Plaistow, on Friday evening.

Scotland Yard said that they were called at around 10pm to reports of a fight near the pub.

“But when our officers arrived most of those involved in the incident had left the scene and the situation had calmed down,” said a spokesman.

A man in his 50s was later found in nearby Balaam Street suffering from head injuries. He was taken to an East London Hospital where his condition is said to be “serious”. Investigations are continuing. The area around the scene of the fight remains taped off.
