A man appeared in court today after five police officers were attacked by a dog in Stratford yesterday.

Symieon Robinson Pierre, a 25-year-old musician of Albert Square, Stratford, appeared in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court charged with possession of a dog contrary to the Dangerous Dogs Act and allowing a dog to be out of control in a public place.

He was also charged with kidnapping and grievous bodily harm with intent, with the offences alleged to have happened in Newham on March 14.

Pierre was remanded in custody to re-appear on March 29, with a further hearing set at Inner London Crown Court on April 18.
