Police appeal after man points gun at group of males in Forest Gate

Detectives are appealing for information after a man travelling in a car pointed a gun at a group of males in Forest Gate,
The group and a woman who was walking with her child fled for their lives during the incident in Wellington Road at the junction with Waterloo Road.
The suspect was in a black Ford Focus with several people when he pointed his weapon at the group from the car’s window.
No shots were fired and the car made off in the direction of Cemetery Road.
Police have today released a CCTV image of a car they would like to trace in connection with the incident on May 30 at around 9pm.

The suspect is a black male, aged in his 20s and he was wearing a silver/grey hooded top and a black jacket.
Detective Sergeant John Macleod, investigating officer, said: “This would have been a terrifying incident for all those involved. Anyone who has information can be assured that they can contact us in the strictest of confidence. Please speak to us so we can catch those responsible.”
