Patrolling police officers discovered a man with stab wounds in Plaistow last night.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, had suffered injuries to his abdomen.
He was found in Prince Regent Lane, close to the junction of Glen Road, at around 10.30pm.
He was taken to hospital where he is in a serious but stable condition.
Officers are investigating but no arrests have yet been made.
