A 27-year-old man has been arrested following an assault on a Central line train which left a man with a serious head injury.

The 54-year-old victim was pushed and punched on board the eastbound train between Bank and Stratford, and is currently in hospital.

Police arrested a man from Waltham Forest on suspicion of assault.

He was released under investigation while enquiries continue.

British Transport Police ask anyone who witnessed the incident, which took place at around midnight on Sunday, to call 0800 405 040 or text 61016, quoting reference number 11 of 18 February.
