But the now unemployed midfielder has escaped a driving ban after Suffolk magistrates accepted he needs a car to drive to other clubs who might sign him.
The millionaire footballer, a German international, was clocked while driving on the 70mph maximum A14 in April.
Bury St Edmunds magistrates accepted his lawyer’s plea that he needed his vehicle to drive around the country to try and find a new club to play for, having been released by West Ham United at the end of last season.
With no ban imposed, magistrates fined him �750, �85 costs and a �15 victim surcharge. with a six point penalty on his licence.
