Parents are urged to be vigilant after a man tried to lead a young girl into a van in Canning Town.
The 10-year-old was approached in Ruscoe Road at around 1pm on Saturday, June 24 by the suspect, who made conversation before trying to lure her into a blue van,
He is described as black, thin, 5ft 9ins. and aged between 40 and 60. He had a bald head and a short beard, and a brown dog.
Detective Sergeant John Macleod said: “I would encourage anyone who was in the area of Ruscoe Road or the local park who saw either this man or the blue van to contact us.”
He said police hadn’t had any other similar allegations but urged people to be vigilant.
