Four people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a violent incident in which a man was attacked with a machete.
The incident occurred at just after 10.30pm on June 1 in Libra Road, Plaistow. Newham police said a 51-year-old man driving along the road had swerved to avoid a dog in the road, Newham police said.
Three men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and have been bailed to return to an east London police station on July 22 while inquiries continue.
The victim, Valentine Deeble, had successfully avoided colliding with the dog. He was taken to an east London hospital where he received treatment for his wounds. A second victim attempting to calm the situation received minor injuries.
Newham detectives are investigating the incident.
