Coins were thrown at police officers who attempted to break up a disturbance at Westfield Stratford City.
They were called to the shopping centre at around 3.20pm on Friday after a large number of youths were reported to be behaving in an anti-social manner.
When the officers arrived, a number of items, including coins, were thrown towards them.
Four people were arrested on suspicion of offences under the public order act and affray and taken to an east London police station.
The majority of the group left the area by 7.15pm.
