A man from Forest Gate who posted messages online that supported ISIS has pleaded guilty to encouraging terrorism.
Shafi Mohammed Saleem, 28, admitted the offence at Snaresbrook Crown Court today.
He had previously posted messages on social media site Instagram which police believed encouraged martyrdom.
Detectives from the Met Police’s Counter Terrorism Command arrested Saleem at his home address in April after launching an intelligence-led investigation into his online activities.
He has been bailed to appear for sentencing at Snaresbrook Crown Court on January 9.
