A 28-year-old man from Forest Gate, Newham, has been charged following an investigation into extremist material online.
Shafi Mohammed Saleem was today charged with encouraging terrorism, contrary to section 1 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
He was arrested in east London on April 19 by officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command and was subsequently bailed pending further enquiries.
Mr Saleem will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, July 26.
