A 75-year-old woman was left with two breaks in her jaw following a vicious attack in East Ham in broad daylight.
Patricia Beckford was repeatedly punched in the head and was knocked off her mobility scooter during the attack which took place on the junction of Plashet Grove and Grangewood Street at about 11.30am on Friday.
She had been shopping in Green Street and was on her way home when a man wearing a hoodie came up from behind her and began punching her in the head.
Her daughter, Jacqui Drain, 50, is desperate to find the culprit who has left her mother traumatised.
“How could somebody do this to an old woman?” she said. “He came up from behind and punched the living daylights out of her. If he had hit her in a certain place she could have been in a mortuary.

Patricia, who has extensive bruising on her face, was initially taken to Newham General Hospital for an assessment of her injuries and was transferred to the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, to see a facial specialist. She was discharged from hospital on Saturday afternoon.
Jacqui said: “When I took her for a check-up on Monday, everytime she [my mum] saw a stranger she was jumpy.
“She won’t go out now, unless she’s in a taxi.”
