A man from East Ham has been jailed for six months after “random and unprovoked” assaults on three women at Tube stations in London.
Obi Ojukwu, 40, of Crown Mews, East Ham, was sentenced at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on December 18 after pleading guilty to all counts.
Ojukwu struck a woman on the left hand side of her face with the back of his hand after following her off a train at Bond Street station in September.
This left the woman, 30, from Leyton, with slight bruising and a bloodshot eye.
The second assault took place 15 minutes later at Shepherds Bush station, when Ojukwu passed a 26-year-old from Hammersmith and struck her in the same way as they passed each other.
Ojukwu’s third offence took place in October at King’s Cross Station, where he approached a 17-year-old from Rugby and tried to persuade her to go to Camden with him.

When the women when she got up and walked away, he boarded the same train as her, and struck her face with the back of his hand, causing her to fall backwards and hit her head on the glass of the train door.
Ojukwu was identified by police using CCTV footage and was arrested on November 26.
Speaking after the sentencing, PC Gemma Ryan, the investigating officer, said: “These were random and unprovoked assaults against three lone women, who were left shocked, in pain and very upset by what happened.”
She added: “Although incidents like this are rare on the Tube network, I hope Obi Ojukwu‘s prison sentence serves as a stark warning that we do not tolerate attacks such as this, and, thanks to the excellent CCTV on board trains, we will continue to identify offenders and put them before the courts.”
