Three men were jailed for 30 years in total on Wednesday for kidnapping and murder a Polish man and dumping his body in a field.

Daniel Kosowski, 40, of Henry Adlington Close, Beckton, helped two other men to get rid of the corpse of 27-year-old Andrej Kulesza who was discovered with a ligature around his neck by a dog walker in a remote part of Northampton on April 25 2011.

He had been reported missing to Tottenham police by his girlfriends after leaving his home in Stamford Hill in September 2010.

The court heard that the victim was involved in dealing cannabis and amphetamines and fearing for his safety because he had run up debts.

A group of men forced their way into the home of a friend of Andrzej’s soon afterwards, beat him with a bicycle lock, knocking out two teeth, and threatened him with a knife to reveal where Andrzej was.

The friend’s mobile phone was stolen and used to call two more associates of the victim in the hunt for him.

The stolen phone was then used to text the victim and draw him out of his home.

The victim’s girlfried was told he had been kidnapped and she would need to pay a ransom.

She borrowed £300 from a friend and handed over the cash.

Despite promises he would be released, more demands for cash were then made. but then the calls abruptly ended.

Evidence indicated Andrzej was tortured while inside the address.

It is believed Artur Janik, 27, from Woking, Kosowski, and Kamil Dreszer, 27, from Willesden and another man collected the victim’s body.

Investigating officer Det Chf Insp Andy Chalmers, from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command, said: “They acted in an appalling manner and one can only imagine the physical and emotional trauma Andrzej suffered during the hours he was held captive. I am satisfied at today’s convictions.”

Kamil was sentenced to serve a miniumum of 22 years at the Old Bailey for murder, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and preventing the lawful burial and disposal of a corpse.

Janik was sentenced to 11 years in prison for manslaughter, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and preventing the lawful burial and disposal of a corpse.
