Detectives have been given more time to question three teenagers arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences.

Three women - two aged 18 and one of 19 - were arrested in east London on Monday on suspicion of the commission, preparation and instigation of terrorist acts.

The warrants, granted by Westminster Magistrates’ Court, allow the three to be detained until Friday, May 4.

The arrests were made in connection to a raid in Willesden last Thursday in which a 21-year-old woman was shot by police. She is now being held in a south London police station following her arrest on Sunday afternoon.

Police said the arrests were made as part of “an ongoing intelligence-led operation”.
