A 22-year-old man is to face a judge over claims he attacked five patients at Newham General Hospital.

Rondell Chester, of Barking Road, Canning Town, will appear at Inner London Crown Court on May 23.

He was remanded in custody following a short hearing before Stratford magistrates.

Chester faces ten charges, including two counts of GBH, three of ABH, four of common assault and a single count of possessing an offensive weapon.

Three men and two women were injured when they were attacked in their beds at the Plaistow hospital in the early hours of January 15.
