A Plaistow man accused of being involved in a fatal driveway shooting 16 years ago has appeared in court.

Robert Blackwell, of Atlas Road, appeared before Medway magistrates yesterday charged with conspiracy to murder, and has been remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, April 5.

Three other men who were arrested yesterday have since been charged and are due before magistrates today.

Kane Ward, 52, of Boyd Close, Upminster, David Carvel, 51, of Plains Farm Close, Colchester, and Terence Barry, 43, of no fixed address, are all charged with conspiracy to murder Leonard Naylor.

Mr Naylor, 46, died after suffering multiple gunshot wounds on the driveway of his home in Bracondale Avenue, Istead Rise, Kent on April 18, 2001.
