The hunt is on to find the mother of a newborn baby who was found abandoned in a park in East Ham last night.
The baby girl was discovered by a woman walking her dog in a children’s park near Roman Road and Saxon Road, just after 10.15pm.
The dog walker heard the tot crying and found her wrapped in a white towel inside a shopping bag on the floor next to a bench.
She had not been hidden.
She was taken to hospital where she is being cared for by medics who have named her ‘Roman’ after the road where she was found.
