Over £4,000 was stolen from a nightclub in the early hours of the morning by a gang armed with knives and a gun.

The owner of Guvnor Night Club, in Bell Lane, Silvertown, and two other men were asleep in the residential part of the building when they were woken up by seven men carrying knives and a black handgun.

They dragged the owner to the his office and demanded money, taking £4,258, before driving off in a blue Vauxhall Astra in an unknown direction.

The gang are described as black and white males all wearing dark sports clothing, face coverings and hats.

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and the air ambulance treated the other two men in the building who jumped from second storey windows to escape.

One suffered minor injuries while the other was seriously injured and taken to hospital.

Officers from the Flying Squad are investigating but no arrest have been made.
