DETECTIVES investigating the stabbing of a 19-year-old man in Beckton are appealing for witnesses.
Police were called to reports of a serious assault outside the Asda supermarket in Beckton.
It later emerged that a 19-year-old, his dog and a friend, were attacked by a group of about 10 men as they walked along the footpath at the rear entrance of the store.
The victim was stabbed several times to the lower body before he staggered into the supermarket to get help. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Det Con Grant Stevens urged witnesses or people with information of the “very violent attack”, which happened at 10pm on December 15, to contact the Violent Crime Unit at Plaistow on (020) 7275 5890, or to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
