A Plaistow mother and her daughter have been charged with trying to smuggle around �800,000 worth of cocaine into the country.
Sandra Lee Grey, 44, from Barking Road, and Kerene Taneik Hayles, 22, were arrested after arriving at Gatwick on a flight from Montego Bay in Jamaica on Sunday.
Cocaine was found concealed in toiletries when a suitcase was searched.
The pair appeared before Crawley magistrates today charged with attempting to import a class A substance and they were remanded in custody until May 18.
