12 years for drug dealer follows police swoop
Guns and ammunition were discovered at a Forest Gate flat police swopped on after arresting a suspected drug dealer.
Detectives found a key to the property in Keeble Terrace when they searched the home in Chingford, Essex, of Syed Hussain, 31, the Old Bailey heard.
Inside they found 58g of cocaine, self seal bags containing cannabis and 1,600.
At Keeble Terrace police recovered a handgun and silencer, sawn-off shotgun and ammunition, along with cocaine, heroin and cash. Syed said he had visited there a few days earlier before as a “handyman”.
He was convicted of eight offences concerning his possession of firearms, ammunition and drugs earlier this month and was last week jailed for 12 years.
Detective Constable James Barber of the Trident Gang Crime Command, said: “Hussain has without question accumulated an astonishing quantity weaponry and drugs, determining himself to be a dangerous individual.
“There is no doubt that Hussain had every intention to cause serious harm with these items in his possession.”
