Two drug dealers who were caught red-handed after trying to flee from the police have been sentenced.
Chelmsford Crown Court heard how Mohammed Rehman, of Richmond Street, Plaistow and Rhys Regisford, of Hyde Close, Plaistow, were caught after officers spotted a group of known drug users near to a silver Peugeot parked in Harlow on March 7 last year.
Rehman, 26, and Regisford, 25, got out of the car and ran when officers approached, and during the chase, Regisford threw a plastic white ball – containing 45 rocks of crack cocaine and one gram of heroin – into the air.
Rehman admitted to two counts of possessing a Class A drug with intent to supply and possessing cannabis, and on Monday, was jailed for three years and three months.
Regisford admitted two counts of possessing a Class A drug with intent to supply and was given a two-year suspended jail sentence.
