Two men have been arrested by armed police in Newham overnight on suspicion of terrorism offences.
The men, aged 34 and 37, were arrested at separate addresses in the borough.
A third man, aged 33, was arrested at an address in Waltham Forest.
The Met has confirmed that the arrests, made by counter terrorism command officers and supported by armed police, were not made as part of the investigation into the London Bridge terrorist attack.
All three have been taken into custody at a south London police station on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of terrorism offences under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
Searches at the addresses are ongoing.
