Raids across The Broadway, Stratford Park, Densham Road, Gillman Drive and Stephens Road in Stratford saw 20 suspected drug dealers arrested yesterday.
The police swoops were the culmination of Operation Duntroon, a four-month investigation into the supply of Class A and Class B drugs in Stratford and the New Town ward.
The Met said they also made arrests for public order offences connected to the disorder at the protest about Edson Da Costa’s death on June 25.
Chief Superintendent Ade Adelekan, Borough Commander for Newham, said the operation had been very successful, and added: “We want to reassure the business and the community that dealing drugs in Newham will not be tolerated.
The new commander promised that the police campaign would be “tireless and unwavering until we have dismantled this criminal group”.
All suspects remain in custody , and investigations are ongoing.
