New research on knife crime and gangs will be shared next week in Stratford.
Findings will discuss the hopes and dreams of about 20 young people living in some of the areas worst affected by violent crime, as well as what help they need achieving these.
The ‘breakfast discussion’, held at Theatre Royal Stratford East in Gerry Raffles Square, is chaired by Philip Osei-Hwere, managing director of marking firm EMH Global.
“The whole idea is to find out what inspires them, and use that as more of a force pushing them away from getting involved in gangs,” he told the Recorder.
“Our whole aim is to direct the conversation to more of solutions rather than blame.
“That’s what this presentation is about, it’s where the conversation carries on after.”
Presenters include research author Kay Scorah and Mr Gee, comedian and presenter.
The event runs from 8am until 10am on Friday, May 4.
