Maryland shooting: Two men charged with murder

Detectives investigating the fatal shooting of a teenager in Maryland have charged two men with his murder.

Abdul Mayanja, 19, died in hospital after being shot in Well Street, near Maryland station, on the evening of August 25, 2017.

Officers have now charged two men - Alex Simos, 20, of St Winefrides Avenue, Manor Park and Marvin Simos, 22, of Claremont Close, North Woolwich - with his murder.

Both are set to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Monday).

Five other people, two aged 22 and three aged 23, who were arrested in connection with Abdul’s death have been released under investigation.
