A teenager will appear in court this morning charged with making or possessing an explosive substance following the discovery of a ‘suspicious package’ on a Tube.

Damon Smith, 19, from south east London, has been charged over the incident at North Greenwich underground station on Thursday and will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today.

The item’s discovery caused the Jubilee line to be suspended between Stratford and Canary Wharf for several hours.
