A drug dealer who ran away from police officers who attempted to question him has been jailed.

Jomardi McPherson, 22, of Applewood Drive, Plaistow, was in breach of a previous two year suspended sentence at the time he was arrested in Harlow on November 16, 2016.

He was found to be in possession of 1.7 grams of heroin, one gram of cocaine and cannabis.

Appearing at Chelmsford Crown Court for sentencing on Thursday, McPherson – who had admitted the offences – was jailed for two years and one month for three counts of possession with intent to supply. Two counts related to class A drugs and the other to class B.

He also received a one year and six month sentence, to run consecutively, for breaching a two year suspended sentenced for possession with intent to supply class A drugs. He had admitted one count at Isleworth Crown Court on March 27, 2015.

Investigating officer Det Con Jack Etheridg, said: “McPherson has shown no remorse for his actions and no disregard for his actions and his suspended prison sentence.

“He was tempted by money made by selling drugs on Harlow’s streets and even went as far as using his own mother’s car to deliver drugs from London.

“McPherson tried running away from police and the law but justice caught up with him in the end. This sentence sends a strong message to other drug dealers that we will catch you and bring you to court.”
