Jail threat for Forest Gate house burglar

PUBLISHED: 17:12 06 October 2012

A brazen burglar who calmly walked out with his loot past a family sitting in their living room is facing jail.

Jadihul Hoque, 18, clambered up a drain pipe and through an open window to steal two laptops and a mobile phone from a bedroom.

He then strolled down the stairs before closing the front door behind himself, Inner London Crown Court heard.

Prosecutor Arizuna Asante told the court the burglar struck in broad daylight on the evening of July 24.

Hoque was arrested at his own home only yards down the road in Forest Gate. The stolen items were found in his bedroom.

The court was told that Hoque had committed two previous burglaries, the earliest when he was just 15.

Judge Roger Chapple decided to adjourn for a pre-sentence reports, but warned the teenager he faced jail.

“I leave all sentencing option open, but I suspect there may be a high chance of custody unless the report reveals anything,” he said.

Hoque, of Norwich Road, admitted the single count of burglary.

He will be sentenced on October 17. He was remanded in custody until that date.
